۞
2:92:1walaqadAnd indeed
2:92:2jāʾakumcame to you
2:92:4biₐlbayyinātⁱwith [the] clear signs,
2:92:5θummᵃthen
2:92:6ᵢttaḫaðtumᵘyou took
2:92:7ₐlʕijlᵃthe calf
2:92:8minᵐfrom
2:92:9baʕdihiafter him
2:92:11ẓālimūnᵃ(were) wrongdoers.
۝٩٢
And Moses had certainly brought you clear proofs. Then you took the calf [in worship] after that, while you were wrongdoers.
2:93:1waʾiðAnd when
2:93:2ʾaḫaðnāWe took
2:93:3mīθāqakumyour covenant
2:93:4warafaʕnāand We raised
2:93:5fawqakumᵘover you
2:93:6ₐlṭṭūrᵃthe mount,
2:93:9ʾātaynākumWe gave you,
2:93:10biquwwaẗⁱⁿwith firmness
2:93:11waᵢsmaʕūand listen."
2:93:12qālūThey said,
2:93:13samiʕnā"We heard
2:93:14waʕaṣaynāand we disobeyed."
2:93:15waʾušribūAnd they were made to drink
2:93:17qulūbihimᵘtheir hearts
2:93:18ₐlʕijlᵃ(love of) the calf
2:93:19bikufrihimbecause of their disbelief.
2:93:21biʾsamā"Evil (is) that
2:93:22yaʾmurukumorders you (to do) it
2:93:24ʾīmānukumyour faith,
2:93:26kuntumyou are
2:93:27mmuʾminīnᵃbelievers."
۝٩٣
And [recall] when We took your covenant and raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and listen." They said [instead], "We hear and disobey." And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf because of their disbelief. Say, "How wretched is that which your faith enjoins upon you, if you should be believers."
2:94:2ʾin"If -
2:94:4lakumᵘfor you
2:94:5ₐlddārᵘthe home
2:94:6ₐlʾāḫiraẗᵘ(of) the Hereafter
2:94:7ʕindᵃwith
2:94:8ₐllahⁱAllah
2:94:9ḫāliṣaẗᵃⁿexclusively,
2:94:11dūnⁱexcluding
2:94:12ₐlnnāsⁱthe mankind,
2:94:14ₐlmawtᵃ(for) [the] death,
2:94:17ṣādiqīnᵃtruthful."
۝٩٤
Say, [O Muhammad], "If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is for you alone and not the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful.
2:95:1walanAnd never (will)
2:95:2yatamannawhᵘthey wish for it,
2:95:3ʾabadᵃⁿᵐāever,
2:95:4bimābecause
2:95:5qaddamat(of what) sent ahead
2:95:6ʾaydīhimtheir hands.
2:95:7waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
2:95:8ʕalīmᵘⁿᵐ(is) All-Knower
2:95:9biₐlẓẓālimīnᵃof the wrongdoers.
۝٩٥
But they will never wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
2:96:1walatajidannahumAnd surely you will find them
2:96:2ʾaḥraṣᵃ(the) most greedy
2:96:3ₐlnnāsⁱ(of) [the] mankind
2:96:5ḥayawẗⁱⁿlife,
2:96:6waminᵃand (greedier) than
2:96:7ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:96:8ʾašrakūassociate[d] partners (with Allah).
2:96:9yawaddᵘLoves
2:96:10ʾaḥaduhum(each) one of them
2:96:12yuʕammarᵘhe could be granted a life
2:96:13ʾalfᵃ(of) a thousand
2:96:14sanaẗⁱⁿyear(s).
2:96:15wamāBut not
2:96:17bimuzaḥziḥihi(will) remove him
2:96:18minᵃfrom
2:96:19ₐlʕaðābⁱthe punishment
2:96:21yuʕammarᵃhe should be granted life.
2:96:22waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
2:96:23baṣīrᵘⁿᵐ(is) All-Seer
2:96:24bimāof what
2:96:25yaʕmalūnᵃthey do.
۝٩٦
And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allah. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allah is Seeing of what they do.
2:97:2man"Whoever
2:97:4ʕaduwwaⁿan enemy
2:97:5llijibrīlᵃto Jibreel -
2:97:6faʾinnahuthen indeed he
2:97:7nazzalahubrought it down
2:97:9qalbikᵃyour heart
2:97:10biʾiðnⁱby (the) permission
2:97:11ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
2:97:12muṣaddiqaⁿconfirming
2:97:15yadayhⁱbefore it
2:97:16wahudaⁿand a guidance
2:97:17wabušrāand glad tiding(s)
2:97:18lilmuʾminīnᵃfor the believers."
۝٩٧
Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers."
2:98:1manWhoever
2:98:3ʕaduwwaⁿan enemy
2:98:4llillahⁱ(to) Allah
2:98:5wamalāʾikatihiand His Angels,
2:98:6warusulihiand His Messengers,
2:98:7wajibrīlᵃand Jibreel,
2:98:8wamīkālᵃand Meekael,
2:98:9faʾinnᵃthen indeed
2:98:10ₐllahᵃAllah
2:98:11ʕaduwwᵘⁿ(is) an enemy
2:98:12llilkāfirīnᵃto the disbelievers.
۝٩٨
Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers.
2:99:1walaqadAnd indeed
2:99:2ʾanzalnāWe revealed
2:99:3ʾilaykᵃto you
2:99:4ʾāyātⁱⁿVerses
2:99:5bayyinātⁱⁿclear,
2:99:6wamāand not
2:99:7yakfurᵘdisbelieves
2:99:8bihāin them
2:99:9ʾillāexcept
2:99:10ₐlfāsiqūnᵃthe defiantly disobedient.
۝٩٩
And We have certainly revealed to you verses [which are] clear proofs, and no one would deny them except the defiantly disobedient.
2:100:1ʾawakullamāAnd is (it not that) whenever
2:100:2ʕāhadūthey took
2:100:3ʕahdaⁿa covenant,
2:100:4nnabaðahuthrew it away
2:100:5farīqᵘⁿa party
2:100:8ʾakθaruhummost of them
2:100:9(do) not
2:100:10yuʾminūnᵃbelieve.
۝١٠٠
Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe.
2:101:1walammāAnd when
2:101:2jāʾahumcame to them
2:101:3rasūlᵘⁿa Messenger
2:101:5ʕindⁱfrom
2:101:6ₐllahⁱAllah
2:101:7muṣaddiqᵘⁿconfirming
2:101:9maʕahum(was) with them,
2:101:10nabaðᵃthrew away
2:101:11farīqᵘⁿa party
2:101:13ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:101:14ʾūtūwere given
2:101:15ₐlkitābᵃthe Book
2:101:16kitābᵃ(the) Book
2:101:17ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
2:101:18warāʾᵃbehind
2:101:19ẓuhūrihimtheir backs
2:101:20kaʾannahumas if they
2:101:21(do) not
۝١٠١
And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained].
2:102:1waᵢttabaʕūAnd they followed
2:102:4ₐlššayāṭīnᵘthe devils
2:102:6mulkⁱ(the) kingdom
2:102:7sulaymānᵃ(of) Sulaiman.
2:102:8wamāAnd not
2:102:9kafarᵃdisbelieved
2:102:10sulaymānᵘSulaiman
2:102:11walākinnᵃ[and] but
2:102:12ₐlššayāṭīnᵃthe devils
2:102:13kafarūdisbelieved,
2:102:14yuʕallimūnᵃthey teach
2:102:15ₐlnnāsᵃthe people
2:102:16ₐlssiḥrᵃ[the] magic
2:102:18ʾunzilᵃwas sent down
2:102:20ₐlmalakaynⁱthe two angels
2:102:21bibābilᵃin Babylon,
2:102:23wamārūtᵃand Marut.
2:102:24wamāAnd not
2:102:25yuʕallimānⁱthey both teach
2:102:27ʾaḥadⁱⁿone
2:102:29yaqūlāthey [both] say,
2:102:32fitnaẗᵘⁿ(are) a trial,
2:102:33falāso (do) not
2:102:34takfurdisbelieve."
2:102:35fayataʕallamūnᵃBut they learn
2:102:36minhumāfrom those two
2:102:38yufarriqūnᵃ[they] causes separation
2:102:40baynᵃbetween
2:102:41ₐlmarʾⁱthe man
2:102:42wazawjihiand his spouse.
2:102:43wamāAnd not
2:102:44humthey (could)
2:102:45biḍārrīnᵃat all [be those who] harm
2:102:48ʾaḥadⁱⁿone
2:102:50biʾiðnⁱby permission
2:102:51ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
2:102:52wayataʕallamūnᵃAnd they learn
2:102:54yaḍurruhumharms them
2:102:55walāand not
2:102:56yanfaʕuhumprofits them.
2:102:57walaqadAnd indeed
2:102:59lamanⁱthat whoever
2:102:60ᵢštarāhᵘbuys it,
2:102:64ₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱthe Hereafter
2:102:66ḫalāqⁱⁿshare.
2:102:67walabiʾsᵃAnd surely evil
2:102:68(is) what
2:102:71ʾanfusahumthemselves,
2:102:74yaʕlamūnᵃ(to) know.
۝١٠٢
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
2:103:2ʾannahum[that] they
2:103:3ʾāmanū(had) believed
2:103:4waᵢttaqawand feared (Allah),
2:103:5lamaθūbaẗᵘⁿsurely (the) reward
2:103:7ʕindⁱfrom
2:103:8ₐllahⁱAllah
2:103:9ḫayrᵘⁿ(would have been) better,
2:103:12yaʕlamūnᵃ(to) know.
۝١٠٣
And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.
2:104:2ₐllaðīnᵃwho
2:104:3ʾāmanūbelieve[d]!
2:104:4"(Do) not
2:104:6rāʕinā"Raina"
2:104:8ᵤnẓurnā"Unzurna"
2:104:9waᵢsmaʕūand listen.
2:104:10walilkāfirīnᵃAnd for the disbelievers
2:104:11ʕaðābᵘⁿ(is) a punishment
2:104:12ʾalīmᵘⁿpainful.
۝١٠٤
O you who have believed, say not [to Allah 's Messenger], "Ra'ina" but say, "Unthurna" and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
2:105:1mmā(Do) not
2:105:3ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:105:4kafarūdisbelieve
2:105:6ʾahlⁱ(the) People
2:105:7ₐlkitābⁱ(of) the Book
2:105:8walāand not
2:105:9ₐlmušrikīnᵃthose who associate partners (with Allah),
2:105:11yunazzalᵃ(there should) be sent down
2:105:14ḫayrⁱⁿgood
2:105:16rrabbikumyour Lord.
2:105:17waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
2:105:18yaḫtaṣṣᵘchooses
2:105:19biraḥmatihifor His Mercy
2:105:21yašāʾᵘHe wills.
2:105:22waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
2:105:23ðū(is the) Possessor
2:105:24ₐlfaḍlⁱ(of) [the] Bounty
2:105:25ₐlʕaẓīmⁱ[the] Great.
۝١٠٥
Neither those who disbelieve from the People of the Scripture nor the polytheists wish that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah selects for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
