9:93:2ₐlssabīlᵘthe way (blame)
9:93:3ʕalā(is) on
9:93:4ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
9:93:5yastaʾðinūnakᵃask your permission
9:93:6wahumwhile they
9:93:7ʾaġniyāʾᵘ(are) rich.
9:93:8raḍūThey (are) satisfied
9:93:11maʕᵃwith
9:93:12ₐlḫawālifⁱthose who stay behind,
9:93:13waṭabaʕᵃand Allah sealed
9:93:16qulūbihimtheir hearts,
9:93:18(do) not
۝٩٣
The cause [for blame] is only upon those who ask permission of you while they are rich. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and Allah has sealed over their hearts, so they do not know.
9:94:1yaʕtaðirūnᵃThey will make excuses
9:94:3ʾiðāwhen
9:94:4rajaʕtumyou (have) returned
9:94:7llā"(Do) not
9:94:8taʕtaðirūmake excuse,
9:94:9lannever
9:94:10nnuʾminᵃwe will believe
9:94:12qadVerily,
9:94:13nabbaʾanāAllah (has) informed us
9:94:16ʾaḫbārikumyour news,
9:94:17wasayarāand Allah will see
9:94:19ʕamalakumyour deeds,
9:94:20warasūluhuand His Messenger.
9:94:21θummᵃThen
9:94:22turaddūnᵃyou will be brought back
9:94:24ʕālimⁱ(the) Knower
9:94:25ₐlġaybⁱ(of) the unseen
9:94:26waₐlššahādaẗⁱand the seen,
9:94:27fayunabbiʾukumthen He will inform you
9:94:28bimāof what
9:94:29kuntumyou used (to)
۝٩٤
They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse - never will we believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
9:95:1sayaḥlifūnᵃThey will swear
9:95:2biₐllahⁱby Allah
9:95:4ʾiðāwhen
9:95:5ᵢnqalabtumyou returned
9:95:7lituʕriḍūthat you may turn away
9:95:8ʕanhumfrom them.
9:95:9faʾaʕriḍūSo turn away
9:95:10ʕanhumfrom them,
9:95:11ʾinnahumindeed, they
9:95:12rijsᵘⁿ(are) impure
9:95:13wamaʾwāhumand their abode
9:95:14jahannamᵘ(is) Hell,
9:95:15jazāʾᵃⁿᵐa recompense
9:95:16bimāfor what
9:95:17kānūthey used (to)
۝٩٥
They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning.
9:96:1yaḥlifūnᵃThey swear
9:96:3litarḍawthat you may be pleased
9:96:4ʕanhumwith them.
9:96:5faʾinBut if
9:96:6tarḍawyou are pleased
9:96:7ʕanhumwith them,
9:96:8faʾinnᵃthen indeed,
9:96:9ₐllahᵃAllah
9:96:10(is) not pleased
9:96:12ʕanⁱwith
9:96:13ₐlqawmⁱthe people
9:96:14ₐlfāsiqīnᵃ(who are) defiantly disobedient.
۝٩٦
They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them - indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people.
9:97:1ₐlʾaʕrābᵘThe bedouins
9:97:2ʾašaddᵘ(are) stronger
9:97:3kufraⁿ(in) disbelief
9:97:4wanifāqaⁿand hypocrisy,
9:97:5waʾajdarᵘand more likely
9:97:6ʾallāthat not
9:97:8ḥudūdᵃ(the) limits
9:97:9(of) what
9:97:10ʾanzalᵃAllah (has) revealed
9:97:13rasūlihiHis Messenger.
9:97:14waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:97:15ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knower,
9:97:16ḥakīmᵘⁿAll-Wise.
۝٩٧
The bedouins are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy and more likely not to know the limits of what [laws] Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
9:98:1waminᵃAnd among
9:98:2ₐlʾaʕrābⁱthe bedouins
9:98:3man(is he) who
9:98:4yattaḫiðᵘtakes
9:98:6yunfiqᵘhe spends
9:98:7maġramaⁿ(as) a loss,
9:98:8wayatarabbaṣᵘand he awaits
9:98:9bikumᵘfor you
9:98:10ₐlddawāʾirᵃthe turns (of misfortune).
9:98:11ʕalayhimUpon them
9:98:12dāʾiraẗᵘ(will be) the turn
9:98:13ₐlssawʾⁱ(of) the evil.
9:98:14waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:98:15samīʕᵘⁿ(is) All-Hearer,
9:98:16ʕalīmᵘⁿAll-Knower.
۝٩٨
And among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
9:99:1waminᵃBut among
9:99:2ₐlʾaʕrābⁱthe bedouins
9:99:3man(is he) who,
9:99:4yuʾminᵘbelieves
9:99:5biₐllahⁱin Allah
9:99:6waₐlyawmⁱand the Day
9:99:7ₐlʾāḫirⁱthe Last,
9:99:8wayattaḫiðᵘand takes
9:99:10yunfiqᵘhe spends
9:99:11qurubātⁱⁿ(as) means of nearness
9:99:12ʕindᵃwith
9:99:13ₐllahⁱAllah
9:99:14waṣalawātⁱand blessings
9:99:15ₐlrrasūlⁱ(of) the Messenger.
9:99:16ʾalāBehold!
9:99:17ʾinnahāIndeed, it
9:99:18qurbaẗᵘⁿ(is) a means of nearness
9:99:19llahumfor them.
9:99:20sayudḫiluhumᵘAllah will admit them
9:99:23raḥmatihiHis Mercy.
9:99:24ʾinnᵃIndeed,
9:99:25ₐllahᵃAllah
9:99:26ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
9:99:27rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝٩٩
But among the bedouins are some who believe in Allah and the Last Day and consider what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and of [obtaining] invocations of the Messenger. Unquestionably, it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them to His mercy. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
9:100:1waₐlssābiqūnᵃAnd the forerunners,
9:100:2ₐlʾawwalūnᵃthe first
9:100:3minᵃamong
9:100:4ₐlmuhājirīnᵃthe emigrants
9:100:5waₐlʾanṣārⁱand the helpers
9:100:6waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
9:100:7ᵢttabaʕūhumfollowed them
9:100:8biʾiḥsānⁱⁿin righteousness,
9:100:9rraḍīᵃAllah is pleased
9:100:11ʕanhumwith them,
9:100:12waraḍūand they are pleased
9:100:13ʕanhᵘwith Him.
9:100:14waʾaʕaddᵃAnd He has prepared
9:100:16jannātⁱⁿGardens
9:100:18taḥtahāunderneath it
9:100:19ₐlʾanhārᵘthe rivers,
9:100:20ḫālidīnᵃwill abide
9:100:22ʾabadaⁿforever.
9:100:24ₐlfawzᵘ(is) the success
9:100:25ₐlʕaẓīmᵘthe great.
۝١٠٠
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
9:101:1wamimmanAnd among those
9:101:2ḥawlakumaround you
9:101:4ₐlʾaʕrābⁱthe bedouins
9:101:5munāfiqūnᵃ(are) hypocrites
9:101:6waminand (also) from
9:101:7ʾahlⁱpeople
9:101:8ₐlmadīnaẗⁱ(of) the Madinah.
9:101:9maradūThey persist
9:101:11ₐlnnifāqⁱthe hypocrisy,
9:101:13taʕlamuhumyou know them,
9:101:15naʕlamuhum[We] know them.
9:101:16sanuʕaððibuhumWe will punish them
9:101:18θummᵃthen
9:101:19yuraddūnᵃthey will be returned
9:101:21ʕaðābⁱⁿa punishment
9:101:22ʕaẓīmⁱⁿgreat.
۝١٠١
And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madinah. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment.
9:102:1waʾāḫarūnᵃAnd others
9:102:2ᵢʕtarafū(who have) acknowledged
9:102:3biðunūbihimtheir sins.
9:102:4ḫalaṭūThey had mixed
9:102:5ʕamalaⁿa deed
9:102:6ṣāliḥaⁿrighteous
9:102:7waʾāḫarᵃ(with) other
9:102:8sayyiʾaⁿ(that was) evil.
9:102:9ʕasāPerhaps
9:102:10ₐllahᵘAllah
9:102:11ʾan[that]
9:102:12yatūbᵃwill turn (in mercy)
9:102:14ʾinnᵃIndeed,
9:102:15ₐllahᵃAllah
9:102:16ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
9:102:17rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝١٠٢
And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
9:103:1ḫuðTake
9:103:3ʾamwālihimtheir wealth
9:103:4ṣadaqaẗᵃⁿa charity,
9:103:5tuṭahhiruhumpurifying them
9:103:6watuzakkīhimand cause them increase
9:103:8waṣallⁱand bless
9:103:9ʕalayhim[upon] them.
9:103:10ʾinnᵃIndeed,
9:103:11ṣalawtakᵃyour blessings
9:103:12sakanᵘⁿ(are a) reassurance
9:103:13llahumfor them.
9:103:14waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:103:15samīʕᵘⁿ(is) All-Hearer,
9:103:16ʕalīmᵘⁿAll-Knower.
۝١٠٣
Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
9:104:3ʾannᵃthat
9:104:4ₐllahᵃAllah
9:104:5huwᵃ(is) He
9:104:6yaqbalᵘ(Who) accepts
9:104:7ₐlttawbaẗᵃthe repentance
9:104:9ʕibādihiHis slaves
9:104:10wayaʾḫuðᵘand takes
9:104:11ₐlṣṣadaqātⁱthe charities,
9:104:12waʾannᵃand that
9:104:13ₐllahᵃAllah,
9:104:15ₐlttawwābᵘ(is) the Acceptor of repentance,
9:104:16ₐlrraḥīmᵘthe Most Merciful.
۝١٠٤
Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful?
9:105:1waqulⁱAnd say,
9:105:3fasayarāthen Allah will see
9:105:5ʕamalakumyour deed
9:105:6warasūluhuand His Messenger,
9:105:7waₐlmuʾminūnᵃand the believers.
9:105:8wasaturaddūnᵃAnd you will be brought back
9:105:10ʕālimⁱ(the) Knower
9:105:11ₐlġaybⁱ(of) the unseen
9:105:12waₐlššahādaẗⁱand the seen,
9:105:13fayunabbiʾukumthen He will inform you
9:105:14bimāof what
9:105:15kuntumyou used (to)
۝١٠٥
And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
9:106:1waʾāḫarūnᵃAnd others
9:106:2murjawnᵃdeferred
9:106:3liʾamrⁱfor the Command of Allah -
9:106:5ʾimmāwhether
9:106:6yuʕaððibuhumHe will punish them
9:106:8yatūbᵘHe will turn (in mercy)
9:106:10waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:106:11ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knower,
9:106:12ḥakīmᵘⁿAll-Wise.
۝١٠٦
And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah - whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
9:107:1waₐllaðīnᵃAnd those who
9:107:3masjidaⁿa masjid
9:107:4ḍirāraⁿ(for causing) harm
9:107:5wakufraⁿand (for) disbelief,
9:107:6watafrīqᵃⁿᵐāand (for) division
9:107:8ₐlmuʾminīnᵃthe believers,
9:107:9waʾirṣādaⁿand (as) a station
9:107:10llimanfor whoever
9:107:11ḥārabᵃwarred
9:107:12ₐllahᵃ(against) Allah
9:107:13warasūlahuand His Messenger
9:107:14minbefore.
9:107:16walayaḥlifunnᵃAnd surely they will swear,
9:107:20ₐlḥusnāthe good."
9:107:21waₐllahᵘBut Allah
9:107:22yašhadᵘbears witness
9:107:23ʾinnahumindeed, they
9:107:24lakāðibūnᵃ(are) surely liars.
۝١٠٧
And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best." And Allah testifies that indeed they are liars.
9:108:1(Do) not
9:108:3fīhⁱin it
9:108:4ʾabadaⁿever.
9:108:5llamasjidᵘⁿA masjid
9:108:6ʾussisᵃfounded
9:108:8ₐlttaqwāthe righteousness
9:108:10ʾawwalⁱ(the) first
9:108:12ʾaḥaqqᵘ(is) more worthy
9:108:14taqūmᵃyou stand
9:108:15fīhⁱin it.
9:108:16fīhⁱWithin it
9:108:17rijālᵘⁿ(are) men
9:108:18yuḥibbūnᵃwho love
9:108:20yataṭahharūpurify themselves,
9:108:21waₐllahᵘand Allah
9:108:22yuḥibbᵘloves
9:108:23ₐlmuṭṭahhirīnᵃthe ones who purify themselves.
۝١٠٨
Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.
9:109:1ʾafamanThen is (one) who
9:109:2ʾassasᵃfounded
9:109:3bunyānahuhis building
9:109:5taqwārighteousness
9:109:6minᵃfrom
9:109:7ₐllahⁱAllah
9:109:8wariḍwānⁱⁿand (His) pleasure
9:109:9ḫayrᵘⁿbetter
9:109:11mman(one) who
9:109:12ʾassasᵃfounded
9:109:13bunyānahuhis building
9:109:16jurufⁱⁿ(of) a cliff
9:109:17hārⁱⁿ(about to) collapse,
9:109:18faᵢnhārᵃso it collapsed
9:109:19bihiwith him
9:109:21nārⁱ(the) Fire
9:109:22jahannamᵃ(of) Hell.
9:109:23waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:109:24(does) not
9:109:26ₐlqawmᵃthe wrongdoing people.
۝١٠٩
Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
9:110:2yazālᵘ(will) cease
9:110:3bunyānuhumᵘtheir building
9:110:4ₐllaðīwhich
9:110:6rībaẗᵃⁿa (cause of) doubt
9:110:8qulūbihimtheir hearts
9:110:11taqaṭṭaʕᵃ(are) cut into pieces
9:110:12qulūbuhumtheir hearts.
9:110:13waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
9:110:14ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knower,
9:110:15ḥakīmᵘⁿAll-Wise.
۝١١٠
Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts until their hearts are stopped. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
