25:21:1waqālᵃAnd said
25:21:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
25:21:3(do) not
25:21:5liqāʾanā(the) meeting with Us,
25:21:7ʾunzilᵃare sent down
25:21:9ₐlmalāʾikaẗᵘthe Angels
25:21:12rabbanāour Lord?"
25:21:13laqadⁱIndeed,
25:21:14ᵢstakbarūthey have become arrogant
25:21:16ʾanfusihimthemselves
25:21:17waʕatawand (become) insolent
25:21:18ʕutuwwaⁿ(with) insolence
25:21:19kabīraⁿgreat.
۝٢١
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.
25:22:1yawmᵃ(The) Day
25:22:2yarawnᵃthey see
25:22:3ₐlmalāʾikaẗᵃthe Angels,
25:22:5bušrāglad tidings
25:22:6yawmaʾiðⁱⁿ(will be) that Day
25:22:7llilmujrimīnᵃfor the criminals,
25:22:8wayaqūlūnᵃand they will say,
25:22:9ḥijraⁿ"A partition
25:22:10mmaḥjūraⁿforbidden."
۝٢٢
The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."
25:23:1waqadimnāAnd We will proceed
25:23:3whatever
25:23:6ʕamalⁱⁿ(the) deed(s),
25:23:7fajaʕalnāhᵘand We will make them
25:23:8habāʾᵃⁿ(as) dust
25:23:9mmanθūraⁿdispersed.
۝٢٣
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
25:24:1ʾaṣḥābᵘ(The) companions
25:24:2ₐljannaẗⁱ(of) Paradise,
25:24:3yawmaʾiðⁱⁿthat Day,
25:24:4ḫayrᵘⁿ(will be in) a better
25:24:6waʾaḥsanᵘand a better
25:24:7maqīlaⁿresting-place.
۝٢٤
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
25:25:1wayawmᵃAnd (the) Day
25:25:2tašaqqaqᵘwill split open
25:25:3ₐlssamāʾᵘthe heavens
25:25:4biₐlġamāmⁱwith the clouds
25:25:5wanuzzilᵃand (will be) sent down
25:25:6ₐlmalāʾikaẗᵘthe Angels,
25:25:7tanzīlaⁿdescending.
۝٢٥
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
25:26:1ₐlmulkᵘThe Sovereignty,
25:26:2yawmaʾiðⁱⁿthat Day
25:26:3ₐlḥaqqᵘ(will be) truly,
25:26:4lilrraḥmānⁱfor the Most Gracious.
25:26:5wakānᵃAnd (it will) be
25:26:8ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe disbelievers
25:26:9ʕasīraⁿdifficult.
۝٢٦
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
25:27:1wayawmᵃAnd (the) Day
25:27:2yaʕaḍḍᵘwill bite
25:27:3ₐlẓẓālimᵘthe wrongdoer
25:27:5yadayhⁱhis hands,
25:27:6yaqūlᵘhe will say,
25:27:7yālaytanī"O I wish!
25:27:8ᵢttaḫaðtᵘI had taken
25:27:9maʕᵃwith
25:27:10ₐlrrasūlⁱthe Messenger
25:27:11sabīlaⁿa way.
۝٢٧
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.
25:28:1yāwaylatāO woe to me!
25:28:4ʾattaḫiðI had taken
25:28:5fulānaⁿthat one
25:28:6ḫalīlaⁿ(as) a friend.
۝٢٨
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.
25:29:2ʾaḍallanīhe led me astray
25:29:3ʕanⁱfrom
25:29:4ₐlððikrⁱthe Reminder
25:29:5baʕdᵃafter
25:29:6ʾið[when]
25:29:7jāʾanīit (had) come to me.
25:29:8wakānᵃAnd is
25:29:9ₐlššayṭānᵘthe Shaitaan
25:29:10lilʾinsānⁱto the man
25:29:11ḫaðūlaⁿa deserter."
۝٢٩
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."
25:30:1waqālᵃAnd said
25:30:2ₐlrrasūlᵘthe Messenger,
25:30:3yārabbⁱ"O my Lord!
25:30:4ʾinnᵃIndeed,
25:30:5qawmīmy people
25:30:8ₐlqurʾānᵃthe Quran
25:30:9mahjūraⁿ(as) a forsaken thing."
۝٣٠
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."
25:31:1wakaðālikᵃAnd thus
25:31:2jaʕalnāWe have made
25:31:3likullⁱfor every
25:31:4nabīīⁱⁿProphet
25:31:5ʕaduwwaⁿan enemy,
25:31:6mminᵃamong
25:31:7ₐlmujrimīnᵃthe criminals.
25:31:8wakafāBut sufficient is
25:31:9birabbikᵃyour Lord,
25:31:10hādiyaⁿ(as) a Guide
25:31:11wanaṣīraⁿand a Helper.
۝٣١
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
25:32:1waqālᵃAnd said
25:32:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
25:32:3kafarūdisbelieve,
25:32:4lawlā"Why not
25:32:5nuzzilᵃwas revealed
25:32:6ʕalayhⁱto him
25:32:7ₐlqurʾānᵘthe Quran
25:32:8jumlaẗᵃⁿall at once?"
25:32:9wāḥidaẗᵃⁿ
25:32:11linuθabbitᵃthat We may strengthen
25:32:13fuʾādakᵃyour heart,
25:32:14warattalnāhᵘand We have recited it
25:32:15tartīlaⁿ(with distinct) recitation.
۝٣٢
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.
25:33:1walāAnd not
25:33:2yaʾtūnakᵃthey come to you
25:33:3bimaθalⁱⁿwith an example
25:33:5jiʾnākᵃWe bring you
25:33:6biₐlḥaqqⁱthe truth,
25:33:7waʾaḥsanᵃand (the) best
25:33:8tafsīraⁿexplanation.
۝٣٣
And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
25:34:1ₐllaðīnᵃThose who
25:34:2yuḥšarūnᵃwill be gathered
25:34:4wujūhihimtheir faces
25:34:8šarrᵘⁿ(are the) worst
25:34:9mmakānaⁿ(in) position
25:34:10waʾaḍallᵘand most astray
25:34:11sabīlaⁿ(from the) way.
۝٣٤
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
25:35:1walaqadAnd verily,
25:35:4ₐlkitābᵃthe Scripture
25:35:5wajaʕalnāand We appointed
25:35:7ʾaḫāhᵘhis brother
25:35:9wazīraⁿ(as) an assistant.
۝٣٥
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
25:36:1faqulnāThen We said,
25:36:2ᵢðhabā"Go both of you
25:36:4ₐlqawmⁱthe people,
25:36:5ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
25:36:6kaððabūhave denied,
25:36:7biʾāyātināOur Signs."
25:36:8fadammarnāhumThen We destroyed them
25:36:9tadmīraⁿ(with) destruction.
۝٣٦
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
25:37:1waqawmᵃAnd (the) people
25:37:2nūḥⁱⁿ(of) Nuh,
25:37:4kaððabūthey denied
25:37:5ₐlrrusulᵃthe Messengers,
25:37:6ʾaġraqnāhumWe drowned them
25:37:7wajaʕalnāhumand We made them
25:37:8lilnnāsⁱfor mankind
25:37:9ʾāyaẗᵃⁿa sign.
25:37:10waʾaʕtadnāAnd We have prepared
25:37:11lilẓẓālimīnᵃfor the wrongdoers.
25:37:12ʕaðābaⁿa punishment
25:37:13ʾalīmaⁿpainful.
۝٣٧
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
25:38:1waʕādaⁿAnd Ad
25:38:2waθamūdaand Thamud
25:38:3waʾaṣḥābᵃand (the) dwellers
25:38:4ₐlrrassⁱ(of) Ar-rass
25:38:5waqurūnᵃⁿᵐāand generations
25:38:6baynᵃbetween
25:38:7ðālikᵃthat
25:38:8kaθīraⁿmany.
۝٣٨
And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.
25:39:1wakullaⁿAnd each
25:39:2ḍarabnāWe have set forth
25:39:3lahᵘfor him
25:39:4ₐlʾamθālᵃthe examples,
25:39:5wakullaⁿand each
25:39:6tabbarnāWe destroyed
25:39:7tatbīraⁿ(with) destruction.
۝٣٩
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
25:40:1walaqadAnd verily,
25:40:2ʾatawthey have come
25:40:4ₐlqaryaẗⁱthe town
25:40:6ʾumṭiratwas showered
25:40:7maṭarᵃ(with) a rain
25:40:8ₐlssawʾⁱ(of) evil.
25:40:9ʾafalamThen do not
25:40:10yakūnūthey [were]
25:40:15yarjūnᵃexpecting
25:40:16nušūraⁿResurrection.
۝٤٠
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.
25:41:1waʾiðāAnd when
25:41:2raʾawkᵃthey see you,
25:41:4yattaḫiðūnakᵃthey take you
25:41:5ʾillāexcept
25:41:6huzuwaⁿ(in) mockery,
25:41:7ʾahāðā"Is this
25:41:8ₐllaðīthe one whom
25:41:9baʕaθᵃAllah has sent
25:41:11rasūlaⁿ(as) a Messenger?
۝٤١
And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
25:42:1ʾinHe would have almost
25:42:3layuḍillunā[surely] misled us
25:42:5ʾālihatināour gods
25:42:8ṣabarnāwe had been steadfast
25:42:9ʕalayhāto them."
25:42:10wasawfᵃAnd soon
25:42:11yaʕlamūnᵃwill know
25:42:12ḥīnᵃwhen
25:42:13yarawnᵃthey will see
25:42:14ₐlʕaðābᵃthe punishment,
25:42:16ʾaḍallᵘ(is) more astray
25:42:17sabīlaⁿ(from the) way.
۝٤٢
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
25:43:1ʾaraʾaytᵃHave you seen
25:43:2manⁱ(one) who
25:43:3ᵢttaḫaðᵃtakes
25:43:4ʾilāhahu(as) his god
25:43:5hawāhᵘhis own desire?
25:43:6ʾafaʾantᵃThen would you
25:43:8ʕalayhⁱover him
25:43:9wakīlaⁿa guardian?
۝٤٣
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
25:44:2taḥsabᵘdo you think
25:44:3ʾannᵃthat
25:44:4ʾakθarahummost of them
25:44:7yaʕqilūnᵃunderstand?
25:44:10ʾillā(are) except
25:44:11kaₐlʾanʕāmⁱlike cattle.
25:44:14ʾaḍallᵘ(are) more astray
25:44:15sabīlaⁿ(from the) way.
۝٤٤
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
25:45:1ʾalamDo you not
25:45:4rabbikᵃyour Lord
25:45:6maddᵃHe extends
25:45:7ₐlẓẓillᵃthe shadow?
25:45:9šāʾᵃHe willed,
25:45:10lajaʕalahusurely He (could) have made it
25:45:11sākinaⁿstationary.
25:45:12θummᵃThen
25:45:14ₐlššamsᵃthe sun
25:45:15ʕalayhⁱfor it
25:45:16dalīlaⁿan indication.
۝٤٥
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.
25:46:1θummᵃThen
25:46:2qabaḍnāhᵘWe withdraw it
25:46:4qabḍaⁿa withdrawal
25:46:5yasīraⁿgradual.
۝٤٦
Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp.
25:47:1wahuwᵃAnd He
25:47:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
25:47:3jaʕalᵃmade
25:47:4lakumᵘfor you
25:47:5ₐllaylᵃthe night
25:47:6libāsaⁿ(as) a covering
25:47:7waₐlnnawmᵃand the sleep
25:47:8subātaⁿa rest
25:47:9wajaʕalᵃand made
25:47:10ₐlnnahārᵃthe day
25:47:11nušūraⁿa resurrection.
۝٤٧
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.
25:48:1wahuwᵃAnd He
25:48:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
25:48:4ₐlrriyāḥᵃthe winds
25:48:5bušrᵃⁿᵐā(as) glad tidings
25:48:6baynᵃbefore
25:48:8raḥmatihiHis Mercy,
25:48:9waʾanzalnāand We send down
25:48:11ₐlssamāʾⁱthe sky
25:48:12māʾᵃⁿwater
25:48:13ṭahūraⁿpure.
۝٤٨
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water
25:49:1llinuḥīᵃThat We may give life
25:49:3baldaẗᵃⁿ(to) a land
25:49:5wanusqiyahuand We give drink
25:49:6mimmāthereof
25:49:7ḫalaqnā(to those) We created,
25:49:8ʾanʕāmaⁿcattle
25:49:9waʾanāsīīᵃand men
25:49:10kaθīraⁿmany.
۝٤٩
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
25:50:1walaqadAnd verily,
25:50:2ṣarrafnāhᵘWe have distributed it
25:50:3baynahumamong them
25:50:4liyaððakkarūthat they may remember,
25:50:5faʾabābut refuse
25:50:7ₐlnnāsⁱ(of) the people
25:50:8ʾillāexcept
25:50:9kufūraⁿdisbelief.
۝٥٠
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
25:51:2šiʾnāWe willed,
25:51:3labaʕaθnāsurely, We (would) have raised
25:51:5kullⁱevery
25:51:6qaryaẗⁱⁿtown
25:51:7nnaðīraⁿa warner.
۝٥١
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.
25:52:1falāSo (do) not
25:52:2tuṭiʕⁱobey
25:52:3ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe disbelievers
25:52:4wajāhidhumand strive (against) them
25:52:5bihiwith it,
25:52:6jihādaⁿa striving
25:52:7kabīraⁿgreat.
۝٥٢
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur'an a great striving.
