بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
26:1:1ṭāʾ sīn mīmTa Seem Meem.
۝١
Ta, Seen, Meem.
26:2:1tilkᵃThese
26:2:2ʾāyātᵘ(are the) Verses
26:2:3ₐlkitābⁱ(of) the Book
26:2:4ₐlmubīnⁱclear.
۝٢
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3:1laʕallakᵃPerhaps you
26:3:2bāḫiʕᵘⁿ(would) kill
26:3:3nnafsakᵃyourself
26:3:4ʾallāthat not
26:3:5yakūnūthey become
26:3:6muʾminīnᵃbelievers.
۝٣
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
26:4:2nnašaʾWe will,
26:4:3nunazzilWe can send down
26:4:4ʕalayhimto them
26:4:5mminᵃfrom
26:4:6ₐlssamāʾⁱthe sky
26:4:7ʾāyaẗᵃⁿa Sign
26:4:8faẓallatso would bend
26:4:9ʾaʕnāquhumtheir necks
26:4:11ḫāḍiʕīnᵃ(in) humility.
۝٤
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.
26:5:1wamāAnd (does) not
26:5:2yaʾtīhimcome to them
26:5:4ðikrⁱⁿreminder
26:5:5mminᵃfrom
26:5:6ₐlrraḥmānⁱthe Most Gracious
26:5:7muḥdaθⁱⁿnew,
26:5:10ʕanhᵘfrom it
26:5:11muʕriḍīnᵃturn away.
۝٥
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
26:6:1faqadSo verily,
26:6:2kaððabūthey have denied,
26:6:3fasayaʾtīhimthen will come to them
26:6:4ʾanᵐbāʾuthe news
26:6:5(of) what
26:6:6kānūthey used
26:6:8yastahziʾūnᵃ(to) mock.
۝٦
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
26:7:4ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth -
26:7:5kamhow many
26:7:6ʾanᵐbatnāWe produced
26:7:9kullⁱevery
26:7:10zawjⁱⁿkind
26:7:11karīmⁱⁿnoble.
۝٧
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
26:8:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
26:8:3ðālikᵃthat
26:8:4laʾāyaẗᵃⁿsurely (is) a sign,
26:8:5wamābut not
26:8:7ʾakθaruhummost of them
26:8:8mmuʾminīnᵃbelievers.
۝٨
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:9:1waʾinnᵃAnd indeed
26:9:2rabbakᵃyour Lord,
26:9:3lahuwᵃsurely, He
26:9:4ₐlʕazīzᵘ(is) the All-Mighty,
26:9:5ₐlrraḥīmᵘthe Most Merciful.
۝٩
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:10:1waʾiðAnd when
26:10:2nādāyour Lord called
26:10:5ʾanⁱ[that],
26:10:6ᵢʾtⁱ"Go
26:10:7ₐlqawmᵃ(to) the people
26:10:8ₐlẓẓālimīnᵃ(who are) wrongdoers
۝١٠
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
26:11:1qawmᵃ(The) people
26:11:2firʕawnᵃ(of) Firaun.
26:11:3ʾalāWill not
26:11:4yattaqūnᵃthey fear?"
۝١١
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"
26:12:1qālᵃHe said,
26:12:2rabbⁱ"My Lord!
26:12:3ʾinnīIndeed, I
26:12:4ʾaḫāfᵘ[I] fear
26:12:6yukaððibūnⁱthey will deny me.
۝١٢
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
26:13:1wayaḍīqᵘAnd straitens
26:13:2ṣadrīmy breast
26:13:3walāand not
26:13:4yanṭaliqᵘexpresses well
26:13:5lisānīmy tongue,
26:13:8hārūnᵃHarun.
۝١٣
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
26:14:1walahumAnd they have
26:14:2ʕalayyᵃagainst me
26:14:3ðanᵐbᵘⁿa crime,
26:14:4faʾaḫāfᵘso I fear
26:14:6yaqtulūnⁱthey will kill me."
۝١٤
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
26:15:1qālᵃHe said,
26:15:3faᵢðhabāgo both of you
26:15:4biʾāyātināwith Our Signs.
26:15:5ʾinnāIndeed, We
26:15:6maʕakum(are) with you,
26:15:7mmustamiʕūnᵃlistening.
۝١٥
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
26:16:1faʾtiyāSo go both of you
26:16:2firʕawnᵃ(to) Firaun
26:16:4ʾinnā'Indeed, we
26:16:5rasūlᵘ(are the) Messenger
26:16:6rabbⁱ(of the) Lord
26:16:7ₐlʕālamīnᵃ(of) the worlds
۝١٦
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17:1ʾan[That]
26:17:3maʕanāwith us
26:17:4banī(the) Children of Israel.'"
۝١٧
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
26:18:1qālᵃHe said,
26:18:2ʾalam"Did not
26:18:3nurabbikᵃwe bring you up
26:18:4fīnāamong us
26:18:5walīdaⁿ(as) a child,
26:18:6walabiθtᵃand you remained
26:18:7fīnāamong us
26:18:9ʕumurikᵃyour life
26:18:10sinīnᵃyears?
۝١٨
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
26:19:1wafaʕaltᵃAnd you did
26:19:2faʕlatakᵃyour deed
26:19:3ₐllatīwhich
26:19:4faʕaltᵃyou did,
26:19:5waʾantᵃand you
26:19:6minᵃ(were) of
26:19:7ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe ungrateful."
۝١٩
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20:1qālᵃHe said,
26:20:3ʾiðaⁿwhen
26:20:5minᵃ(was) of
26:20:6ₐlḍḍāllīnᵃthose who are astray.
۝٢٠
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray.
26:21:1fafarartᵘSo I fled
26:21:2minkumfrom you
26:21:4ḫiftukumI feared you.
26:21:5fawahabᵃBut granted
26:21:7rabbīmy Lord,
26:21:8ḥukmaⁿjudgment
26:21:9wajaʕalanīand made me
26:21:11ₐlmursalīnᵃthe Messengers.
۝٢١
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
26:22:1watilkᵃAnd this
26:22:2niʕmaẗᵘⁿ(is the) favor
26:22:3tamunnuhāwith which you reproach
26:22:4ʕalayyᵃ[on] me,
26:22:6ʕabbadttᵃyou have enslaved
26:22:7banī(the) Children of Israel."
۝٢٢
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23:1qālᵃFiraun said
26:23:3wamā"And what
26:23:4rabbᵘ(is the) Lord
26:23:5ₐlʕālamīnᵃ(of) the worlds?"
۝٢٣
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
26:24:1qālᵃHe said,
26:24:2rabbᵘ"Lord
26:24:3ₐlssamāwātⁱ(of) the heavens
26:24:4waₐlʾarḍⁱand the earth
26:24:5wamāand whatever
26:24:6baynahumā(is) between them,
26:24:8kuntumyou (should) be
26:24:9mmūqinīnᵃconvinced."
۝٢٤
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
26:25:1qālᵃHe said
26:25:2limanto those
26:25:3ḥawlahuaround him,
26:25:4ʾalā"Do not
26:25:5tastamiʕūnᵃyou hear?"
۝٢٥
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26:1qālᵃHe said,
26:26:2rabbukum"Your Lord
26:26:3warabbᵘand (the) Lord
26:26:4ʾābāʾikumᵘ(of) your forefathers."
۝٢٦
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27:1qālᵃHe said,
26:27:2ʾinnᵃ"Indeed,
26:27:3rasūlakumᵘyour Messenger
26:27:5ʾursilᵃhas been sent
26:27:7lamajnūnᵘⁿ(is) surely mad."
۝٢٧
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28:1qālᵃHe said,
26:28:2rabbᵘ"Lord
26:28:3ₐlmašriqⁱ(of) the east
26:28:4waₐlmaġribⁱand the west
26:28:5wamāand whatever
26:28:6baynahumā(is) between them,
26:28:8kuntumyou were
26:28:9taʕqilūnᵃ(to) reason."
۝٢٨
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29:1qālᵃHe said,
26:29:3ᵢttaḫaðtᵃyou take
26:29:4ʾilāhaⁿa god
26:29:5ġayrīother than me,
26:29:6laʾajʕalannakᵃI will surely make you
26:29:7minᵃamong
26:29:8ₐlmasjūnīnᵃthose imprisoned."
۝٢٩
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30:1qālᵃHe said,
26:30:2ʾawalaw"Even if
26:30:3jiʾtukᵃI bring you
26:30:4bišayʾⁱⁿsomething
26:30:5mmubīnⁱⁿmanifest?"
۝٣٠
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?"
26:31:1qālᵃHe said,
26:31:2faʾtⁱ"Then bring
26:31:5kuntᵃyou are
26:31:7ₐlṣṣādiqīnᵃthe truthful."
۝٣١
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32:1faʾalqāSo he threw
26:32:2ʕaṣāhᵘhis staff
26:32:3faʾiðāand behold!
26:32:5θuʕbānᵘⁿ(was) a serpent,
26:32:6mmubīnᵘⁿmanifest.
۝٣٢
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.
26:33:1wanazaʕᵃAnd he drew out
26:33:2yadahuhis hand
26:33:3faʾiðāand behold!
26:33:5bayḍāʾᵘ(was) white
26:33:6lilnnāẓirīnᵃfor the observers.
۝٣٣
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34:1qālᵃHe said
26:34:2lilmalaʾⁱto the chiefs
26:34:3ḥawlahuaround him,
26:34:4ʾinnᵃ"Indeed,
26:34:6lasāḥirᵘⁿ(is) surely a magician
26:34:7ʕalīmᵘⁿlearned.
۝٣٤
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35:1yurīdᵘHe wants
26:35:3yuḫrijakumdrive you out
26:35:5ʾarḍikumyour land
26:35:6bisiḥrihiby his magic,
26:35:7famāðāso what
26:35:8taʾmurūnᵃ(do) you advise?"
۝٣٥
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36:2ʾarjih"Postpone him
26:36:3waʾaḫāhᵘand his brother,
26:36:4waᵢbʕaθand send
26:36:6ₐlmadāʾinⁱthe cities
26:36:7ḥāširīnᵃgatherers -
۝٣٦
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37:1yaʾtūkᵃThey (will) bring to you
26:37:2bikullⁱevery
26:37:3saḥḥārⁱⁿmagician,
26:37:4ʕalīmⁱⁿlearned."
۝٣٧
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38:1fajumiʕᵃSo were assembled
26:38:2ₐlssaḥaraẗᵘthe magicians
26:38:3limīqātⁱfor (the) appointment
26:38:4yawmⁱⁿ(on) a day
26:38:5mmaʕlūmⁱⁿwell-known.
۝٣٨
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.
26:39:1waqīlᵃAnd it was said
26:39:2lilnnāsⁱto the people,
26:39:5mmujtamiʕūnᵃassemble
۝٣٩
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
26:40:1laʕallanāThat we may
26:40:2nattabiʕᵘfollow
26:40:3ₐlssaḥaraẗᵃthe magicians
26:40:7ₐlġālibīnᵃthe victorious?"
۝٤٠
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41:3ₐlssaḥaraẗᵘthe magicians,
26:41:5lifirʕawnᵃto Firaun,
26:41:6ʾaʾinnᵃ"Is there
26:41:8laʾajraⁿa reward
26:41:12ₐlġālibīnᵃthe victorious?"
۝٤١
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
26:42:1qālᵃHe said,
26:42:3waʾinnakumand indeed you
26:42:4ʾiðaⁿthen
26:42:5llaminᵃsurely (will be) of
26:42:6ₐlmuqarrabīnᵃthe ones who are brought near."
۝٤٢
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
26:43:2lahumto them
26:43:7mmulqūnᵃ(are) going to throw."
۝٤٣
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
26:44:1faʾalqawSo they threw
26:44:2ḥibālahumtheir ropes
26:44:3waʕiṣiyyahumand their staffs
26:44:5biʕizzaẗⁱ"By the might
26:44:6firʕawnᵃ(of) Firaun,
26:44:7ʾinnāindeed, we
26:44:8lanaḥnᵘsurely, we
26:44:9ₐlġālibūnᵃ(are) the victorious."
۝٤٤
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
26:45:1faʾalqāThen threw
26:45:3ʕaṣāhᵘhis staff
26:45:4faʾiðāand behold!
26:45:6talqafᵘswallowed
26:45:8yaʾfikūnᵃthey falsified.
۝٤٥
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
26:46:1faʾulqīᵃThen fell down
26:46:2ₐlssaḥaraẗᵘthe magicians
26:46:3sājidīnᵃprostrate.
۝٤٦
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].
26:47:2ʾāmannā"We believe
26:47:3birabbⁱin (the) Lord
26:47:4ₐlʕālamīnᵃ(of) the worlds,
۝٤٧
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
26:48:2mūsā(of) Musa
26:48:3wahārūnᵃand Harun."
۝٤٨
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
26:49:1qālᵃHe said,
26:49:2ʾāmantum"You believed
26:49:4qablᵃbefore
26:49:5ʾan[that]
26:49:6ʾāðanᵃI gave permission
26:49:8ʾinnahuIndeed, he
26:49:9lakabīrukumᵘ(is) surely your chief
26:49:11ʕallamakumᵘhas taught you
26:49:12ₐlssiḥrᵃthe magic,
26:49:13falasawfᵃso surely soon
26:49:14taʕlamūnᵃyou will know.
26:49:15laʾuqaṭṭiʕannᵃI will surely cut off
26:49:17waʾarjulakumand your feet
26:49:19ḫilāfⁱⁿopposite sides,
26:49:20walaʾuṣallibannakumand I will surely crucify you
۝٤٩
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
26:50:1qālūThey said,
26:50:3ḍayrᵃharm.
26:50:4ʾinnāIndeed, we
26:50:6rabbināour Lord
26:50:7munqalibūnᵃ(will) return.
۝٥٠
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
26:51:1ʾinnāIndeed, we
26:51:2naṭmaʕᵘhope
26:51:4yaġfirᵃwill forgive
26:51:6rabbunāour Lord
26:51:7ḫaṭāyānāour sins,
26:51:8ʾanbecause
26:51:10ʾawwalᵃ(the) first
26:51:11ₐlmuʾminīnᵃ(of) the believers."
۝٥١
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
