22:1:9ʕaẓīmᵘⁿgreat.
۝١
O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing.

22:2:20ʕaðābᵃ(the) punishment
22:2:21ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
22:2:22šadīdᵘⁿ(will be) severe.
۝٢
On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.
22:3:1waminᵃAnd among
22:3:2ₐlnnāsⁱthe mankind
22:3:3man(is he) who
22:3:4yujādilᵘdisputes
22:3:5concerning
22:3:6ₐllahⁱAllah
22:3:7biġayrⁱwithout
22:3:8ʕilmⁱⁿknowledge
22:3:9wayattabiʕᵘand follows
22:3:10kullᵃevery
22:3:11šayṭānⁱⁿdevil
22:3:12mmarīdⁱⁿrebellious.
۝٣
And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil.
22:4:1kutibᵃIt has been decreed
22:4:2ʕalayhⁱfor him
22:4:3ʾannahuthat he
22:4:5tawallāhᵘbefriends him,
22:4:6faʾannahuthen indeed, he
22:4:7yuḍilluhuwill misguide him
22:4:8wayahdīhⁱand will guide him
22:4:10ʕaðābⁱ(the) punishment
22:4:11ₐlssaʕīrⁱ(of) the Blaze.
۝٤
It has been decreed for every devil that whoever turns to him - he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze.
22:5:1yāʾayyuhāO mankind!
22:5:6raybⁱⁿdoubt
22:5:7mminᵃabout
22:5:8ₐlbaʕθⁱthe Resurrection,
22:5:9faʾinnāthen indeed, We
22:5:10ḫalaqnākumWe created you
22:5:12turābⁱⁿdust,
22:5:13θummᵃthen
22:5:15nnuṭfaẗⁱⁿa semen-drop
22:5:16θummᵃthen
22:5:18ʕalaqaẗⁱⁿa clinging substance
22:5:19θummᵃthen
22:5:21mmuḍġaẗⁱⁿan embryonic lump,
22:5:22mmuḫallaqaẗⁱⁿformed
22:5:23waġayrⁱand unformed,
22:5:24muḫallaqaẗⁱⁿ
22:5:25llinubayyinᵃthat We may make clear
22:5:27wanuqirrᵘAnd We cause to remain
22:5:29ₐlʾarḥāmⁱthe wombs
22:5:31našāʾᵘWe will
22:5:33ʾajalⁱⁿa term
22:5:34mmusammaⁿappointed,
22:5:35θummᵃthen
22:5:36nuḫrijukumWe bring you out
22:5:37ṭiflaⁿ(as) a child,
22:5:38θummᵃ[then]
22:5:39litabluġūthat you may reach
22:5:40ʾašuddakum[your] maturity.
22:5:41waminkumAnd among you
22:5:42mman(is he) who
22:5:44waminkumand among you
22:5:45mman(is he) who
22:5:46yuraddᵘis returned
22:5:48ʾarðalⁱthe most abject
22:5:49ₐlʕumurⁱage,
22:5:50likaylāso that not
22:5:51yaʕlamᵃhe knows,
22:5:52minᵐafter
22:5:54ʕilmⁱⁿhaving known,
22:5:55šayʾaⁿanything.
22:5:56watarāAnd you see
22:5:57ₐlʾarḍᵃthe earth
22:5:58hāmidaẗᵃⁿbarren
22:5:59faʾiðāthen when
22:5:60ʾanzalnāWe send down
22:5:62ₐlmāʾᵃwater,
22:5:63ᵢhtazzatit gets stirred
22:5:64warabatand it swells
22:5:65waʾanᵐbatatand grows
22:5:67kullⁱevery
22:5:68zawjⁱⁿkind
22:5:69bahījⁱⁿbeautiful.
۝٥
O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.
22:6:1ðālikᵃThat
22:6:2biʾannᵃ(is) because,
22:6:3ₐllahᵃAllah -
22:6:5ₐlḥaqqᵘ(is) the Truth.
22:6:6waʾannahuAnd that He
22:6:7yuḥāⁱ[He] gives life
22:6:8ₐlmawtā(to) the dead,
22:6:9waʾannahuand that He
22:6:10ʕalā(is) over
22:6:11kullⁱevery
22:6:12šayʾⁱⁿthing
22:6:13qadīrᵘⁿAll-Powerful.
۝٦
That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent
22:7:1waʾannᵃAnd that
22:7:2ₐlssāʕaẗᵃthe Hour
22:7:3ʾātiyaẗᵘⁿwill come,
22:7:4llā(there is) no
22:7:5raybᵃdoubt
22:7:6fīhāabout it,
22:7:7waʾannᵃand that
22:7:8ₐllahᵃAllah
22:7:9yabʕaθᵘwill resurrect
22:7:10man(those) who
22:7:11(are) in
22:7:12ₐlqubūrⁱthe graves.
۝٧
And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves.
22:8:1waminᵃAnd among
22:8:2ₐlnnāsⁱmankind
22:8:3man(is he) who
22:8:4yujādilᵘdisputes
22:8:5concerning
22:8:6ₐllahⁱAllah
22:8:7biġayrⁱwithout
22:8:8ʕilmⁱⁿany knowledge
22:8:9walāand not
22:8:10hudaⁿany guidance
22:8:11walāand not
22:8:12kitābⁱⁿa Book
22:8:13mmunīrⁱⁿenlightening,
۝٨
And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him],
22:9:1θānīᵃTwisting
22:9:2ʕiṭfihihis neck
22:9:3liyuḍillᵃto mislead
22:9:4ʕanfrom
22:9:5sabīlⁱ(the) way
22:9:6ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
22:9:7lahuFor him
22:9:9ₐlddunyāthe world
22:9:10ḫizāᵘⁿ(is) disgrace,
22:9:11wanuðīquhuand We will make him taste
22:9:12yawmᵃ(on the) Day
22:9:13ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) Resurrection
22:9:14ʕaðābᵃ(the) punishment
22:9:15ₐlḥarīqⁱ(of) the Burning Fire.
۝٩
Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allah. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said],
22:10:1ðālikᵃThat
22:10:2bimā(is) for what
22:10:3qaddamathave sent forth
22:10:4yadākᵃyour hands,
22:10:5waʾannᵃand that
22:10:6ₐllahᵃAllah
22:10:7laysᵃis not
22:10:8biẓallāmⁱⁿunjust
22:10:9llilʕabīdⁱto His slaves.
۝١٠
"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
22:11:1waminᵃAnd among
22:11:2ₐlnnāsⁱthe mankind
22:11:3man(is he) who
22:11:4yaʕbudᵘworships
22:11:5ₐllahᵃAllah
22:11:7ḥarfⁱⁿan edge.
22:11:9ʾaṣābahubefalls him
22:11:10ḫayrᵘⁿgood,
22:11:11ᵢṭmaʾannᵃhe is content
22:11:12bihiwith it,
22:11:14ʾaṣābathᵘbefalls him
22:11:15fitnaẗᵘⁿa trial
22:11:16ᵢnqalabᵃhe turns
22:11:19ḫasirᵃHe has lost
22:11:20ₐlddunyāthe world
22:11:21waₐlʾāḫiraẗᵃand the Hereafter.
22:11:24ₐlḫusrānᵘ(is) the loss
22:11:25ₐlmubīnᵘclear.
۝١١
And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge. If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to the other direction]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss.
22:12:2minbesides
22:12:4ₐllahⁱAllah
22:12:7yaḍurruhuharms him
22:12:8wamāand what
22:12:10yanfaʕuhubenefits him.
22:12:13ₐlḍḍalālᵘ(is) the straying
22:12:14ₐlbaʕīdᵘfar away.
۝١٢
He invokes instead of Allah that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error.
22:13:2laman(one) who -
22:13:3ḍarruhuhis harm
22:13:4ʾaqrabᵘ(is) closer
22:13:6nnafʕihihis benefit.
22:13:7labiʾsᵃSurely, an evil
22:13:9walabiʾsᵃand surely an evil
22:13:10ₐlʕašīrᵘfriend!
۝١٣
He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate.
22:14:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
22:14:2ₐllahᵃAllah
22:14:3yudḫilᵘwill admit
22:14:4ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
22:14:7ₐlṣṣāliḥātⁱthe righteous deeds
22:14:8jannātⁱⁿ(to) Gardens
22:14:11taḥtihāunderneath it
22:14:12ₐlʾanhārᵘthe rivers.
22:14:13ʾinnᵃIndeed,
22:14:14ₐllahᵃAllah
22:14:17yurīdᵘHe intends.
۝١٤
Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allah does what He intends.
22:15:1manWhoever
22:15:3yaẓunnᵘthinks
22:15:6yanṣurahᵘAllah will help him
22:15:9ₐlddunyāthe world
22:15:10waₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱand the Hereafter,
22:15:11falyamdudthen let him extend
22:15:12bisababⁱⁿa rope
22:15:14ₐlssamāʾⁱthe sky,
22:15:15θummᵃthen
22:15:16lyaqṭaʕlet him cut off,
22:15:17falyanẓurthen let him see
22:15:19yuðhibannᵃwill remove
22:15:22yaġīẓᵘenrages.
۝١٥
Whoever should think that Allah will not support [Prophet Muhammad] in this world and the Hereafter - let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath], and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]?
22:16:1wakaðālikᵃAnd thus
22:16:2ʾanzalnāhᵘWe sent it down
22:16:3ʾāyātⁱⁿ(as) clear Verses,
22:16:5waʾannᵃand that
22:16:6ₐllahᵃAllah
22:16:9yurīdᵘHe intends.
۝١٦
And thus have We sent the Qur'an down as verses of clear evidence and because Allah guides whom He intends.
22:17:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
22:17:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
22:17:3ʾāmanūhave believed,
22:17:4waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
22:17:6waₐlṣṣābiʾīnᵃand the Sabians
22:17:7waₐlnnaṣārāand the Christians
22:17:8waₐlmajūsᵃand the Magians,
22:17:9waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
22:17:10ʾašrakū(are) polytheists
22:17:11ʾinnᵃindeed,
22:17:12ₐllahᵃAllah
22:17:13yafṣilᵘwill judge
22:17:14baynahumbetween them
22:17:15yawmᵃ(on) the Day
22:17:16ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) the Resurrection.
22:17:17ʾinnᵃIndeed,
22:17:18ₐllahᵃAllah
22:17:20kullⁱevery
22:17:21šayʾⁱⁿthing
22:17:22šahīdᵘⁿ(is) a Witness.
۝١٧
Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allah - Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, over all things, Witness.
22:18:2tarᵃyou see
22:18:3ʾannᵃthat
22:18:4ₐllahᵃ(to) Allah
22:18:5yasjudᵘprostrates
22:18:7manwhoever
22:18:8(is) in
22:18:9ₐlssamāwātⁱthe heavens
22:18:10wamanand whoever
22:18:11(is) in
22:18:12ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth,
22:18:13waₐlššamsᵘand the sun
22:18:14waₐlqamarᵘand the moon
22:18:15waₐlnnujūmᵘand the stars
22:18:16waₐljibālᵘand the mountains,
22:18:17waₐlššajarᵘand the trees
22:18:18waₐlddawābbᵘand the moving creatures
22:18:19wakaθīrᵘⁿand many
22:18:21ₐlnnāsⁱthe people?
22:18:22wakaθīrᵘⁿBut many -
22:18:23ḥaqqᵃ(is) justly due
22:18:24ʕalayhⁱon him
22:18:25ₐlʕaðābᵘthe punishment.
22:18:26wamanAnd whoever
22:18:27yuhinⁱAllah humiliates
22:18:29famāthen not
22:18:32mmukrimⁱⁿbestower of honor.
22:18:33ʾinnᵃIndeed,
22:18:34ₐllahᵃAllah
22:18:37yašāʾᵘHe wills
۝١٨
Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified. And he whom Allah humiliates - for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allah does what He wills.
