59:11:2tarᵃyou see
59:11:4ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
59:11:5nāfaqū(were) hypocrites,
59:11:6yaqūlūnᵃsaying
59:11:7liʾiḫwānihimᵘto their brothers,
59:11:8ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
59:11:9kafarūdisbelieved,
59:11:11ʾahlⁱthe People
59:11:12ₐlkitābⁱ(of) the Scripture,
59:11:14ʾuḫrijtumyou are expelled,
59:11:15lanaḫrujannᵃsurely we will leave

59:11:19fīkumconcerning you
59:11:20ʾaḥadaⁿanyone,
59:11:21ʾabadaⁿever;
59:11:22waʾinand if
59:11:23qūtiltumyou are fought,
59:11:24lananṣurannakumcertainly we will help you."
59:11:25waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
59:11:26yašhadᵘbears witness
59:11:27ʾinnahumthat they
59:11:28lakāðibūnᵃ(are) surely liars.
۝١١
Have you not considered those who practice hypocrisy, saying to their brothers who have disbelieved among the People of the Scripture, "If you are expelled, we will surely leave with you, and we will not obey, in regard to you, anyone - ever; and if you are fought, we will surely aid you." But Allah testifies that they are liars.
59:12:2ʾuḫrijūthey are expelled,
59:12:4yaḫrujūnᵃthey will leave
59:12:5maʕahumwith them,
59:12:6walaʾinand if
59:12:7qūtilūthey are fought
59:12:9yanṣurūnahumthey will help them.
59:12:11nnaṣarūhumthey help them,
59:12:12layuwallunnᵃcertainly they will turn
59:12:13ₐlʾadbārᵃ(their) backs;
59:12:14θummᵃthen
59:12:16yunṣarūnᵃthey will be helped.
۝١٢
If they are expelled, they will not leave with them, and if they are fought, they will not aid them. And [even] if they should aid them, they will surely turn their backs; then [thereafter] they will not be aided.
59:13:1laʾantumCertainly you
59:13:2ʾašaddᵘ(are) more intense
59:13:3rahbaẗᵃⁿ(in) fear
59:13:5ṣudūrihimtheir breasts
59:13:7ₐllahⁱAllah.
59:13:8ðālikᵃThat
59:13:9biʾannahum(is) because they
59:13:10qawmᵘⁿ(are) a people
59:13:11llā(who do) not
59:13:12yafqahūnᵃunderstand.
۝١٣
You [believers] are more fearful within their breasts than Allah. That is because they are a people who do not understand.
59:14:2yuqātilūnakumwill they fight you
59:14:4ʾillāexcept
59:14:6quraⁿtowns
59:14:7mmuḥaṣṣanaẗⁱⁿfortified

59:14:11judurⁱⁿwalls.
59:14:12baʾsuhumTheir violence
59:14:13baynahumamong themselves
59:14:14šadīdᵘⁿ(is) severe.
59:14:15taḥsabuhumYou think they
59:14:16jamīʕaⁿ(are) united,
59:14:17waqulūbuhumbut their hearts
59:14:18šattā(are) divided.
59:14:20biʾannahum(is) because they
59:14:21qawmᵘⁿ(are) a people,
59:14:23yaʕqilūnᵃthey reason.
۝١٤
They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.
59:15:1kamaθalⁱLike (the) example
59:15:2ₐllaðīnᵃ(of) those
59:15:4qablihimbefore them
59:15:5qarībaⁿshortly,
59:15:6ðāqūthey tasted
59:15:7wabālᵃ(the) evil result
59:15:8ʾamrihim(of) their affair,
59:15:9walahumand for them
59:15:10ʕaðābᵘⁿ(is) a punishment
59:15:11ʾalīmᵘⁿpainful.
۝١٥
[Theirs is] like the example of those shortly before them: they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
59:16:1kamaθalⁱLike (the) example
59:16:2ₐlššayṭānⁱ(of) the Shaitaan,
59:16:4qālᵃhe says
59:16:5lilʾinsānⁱto man,
59:16:6ᵤkfur"Disbelieve."
59:16:7falammāBut when
59:16:8kafarᵃhe disbelieves,
59:16:9qālᵃhe says,
59:16:10ʾinnī"Indeed, I am
59:16:11barīʾᵘⁿdisassociated
59:16:12mminkᵃfrom you.
59:16:13ʾinnīIndeed, [I]
59:16:14ʾaḫāfᵘI fear
59:16:15ₐllahᵃAllah,
59:16:16rabbᵃ(the) Lord
59:16:17ₐlʕālamīnᵃ(of) the worlds."
۝١٦
[The hypocrites are] like the example of Satan when he says to man, "Disbelieve." But when he disbelieves, he says, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds."
59:17:1fakānᵃSo will be
59:17:2ʕāqibatahumā(the) end of both of them,
59:17:3ʾannahumāthat they
59:17:4(will be) in

۝١٧
So the outcome for both of them is that they will be in the Fire, abiding eternally therein. And that is the recompense of the wrong-doers.

۝١٨
O you who have believed, fear Allah. And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
59:19:1walāAnd (do) not
59:19:3kaₐllaðīnᵃlike those who

59:19:7ʾanfusahumthemselves.
59:19:9humᵘ[they]
59:19:10ₐlfāsiqūnᵃ(are) the defiantly disobedient.
۝١٩
And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.
59:20:3ʾaṣḥābᵘ(are the) companions

59:20:10ₐlfāʾizūnᵃ(are) the achievers.
۝٢٠
Not equal are the companions of the Fire and the companions of Paradise. The companions of Paradise - they are the attainers [of success].
59:21:2ʾanzalnāWe (had) sent down

۝٢١
If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.

There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah.
